The jp1082 No 030818 Usb Lan Driver (aka "jp1082 driver") is the official file for Windows 7. The official settings for jp1082 are extremely low; it does not support any devices for this reason. That said, the compatibility level of jp1082 is high enough to allow many compatible devices to function correctly with this driver. Jp1082 has an irretrievable loop bug that can prevent some USB ports on your computer from functioning; by contrast, XP only exhibits the issue in certain scenarios. The jp1082 driver does not appear to function correctly on non-x86 platforms, such as Microsoft Windows CE. While not directly related to compatibility issues, the jp1082 driver does not support folder/file tiling with the tiling feature in Windows 7. This is due to the fact that tiling cannot be accurately emulated with the jp1082 driver. Note that the jp1082 USB drivers are not built for Windows Vista or any other operating system besides Windows 7. The only means of obtaining this driver is through installing a workstation version of Windows 7, provided by Microsoft themselves with any current subscription for MSDN or TechNet. Additionally, the jp1082 driver is not compatible with Vista or Windows 7 drivers using CONFIG.SYSTEMENU - this is due to several issues including the fact that the driver auto-detects whether it's installed on 64-bit or 32-bit operating systems. The jp1082 USB driver is therefore not compatible with older 64-bit operating systems such as Windows XP or Vista, nor non 64 bit versions of Windows 7, where this issue does not exist. The jp1082 USB drivers are solely compatible with Windows 7 x64 and x86 editions only.
